Dyneema® - Worlds Strongest Fiber
When designing body armor, it is essential to recognize that three out of five injuries are
caused by edged weapons. Ballistic protection alone is not protection enough.
C.P.E. vests incorporate a remarkable fiber called Dyneema® which is surprisingly
lightweight because each sheet layer is thin, but when stacked together the sheets
form a very dense material. Dyneema® is highly resistant to water, sweat, odors, and
chemicals, providing a longer operational life for the armor. Dyneema's density also
provides remarkable protection against edged and pointed weapons.
Best fibre for protection
Dyneema® is the strongest fiber material in the world used for ballistic armor
protection. It is capable of stopping a bullet at 0.8-1.18 inches (2-3 cm) from the edge
and still meet the standard compared to other comparable materials where 1.78-1.97
inches (4-5 cm)  or even more is needed.

In Dyneema® all the fibers are laid parallel, in the same plane, rather than being woven
together. Dyneema® is made of several layers of Dyneema® fibers, with the direction of
fibers in each layer at 90° to the direction of the fibers in the adjacent layers.

The unidirectional configuration of the fibers in Dyneema® allows the energy
transferred from the impact of a bullet or other threat to be distributed along the fibers
much faster and more efficiently than in conventional woven fabrics. This is because
the absorption power of the yarn in woven fabrics is lost at the crossover points, as
these points reflect rather than absorb the shockwaves of the impact. In Dyneema®,
much more of the material is engaged in stopping the bullet, making it more effective
against ballistics.
Dyneema® is a superstrong
polyethylene fiber produced
using a patented gel spinning
process. It is a unique lightweight
composite providing superior
anti-ballistic protection, for both
personal and vehicle protection.
Superior manufacturing
standards produce a
weave so tight that it
even stops penetration
from surgical needles...
100% of the time!
