The protection class of an immersion suit is determined by its protection properties against cold. The figures in the table show the
water temperature and the time of floating in cold water. During the tests, the body temperature of the test subjects must not in any
single case fall below the limit of hypothermia, which is 95 °F (35 °C). Cold-water resistance varies highly between different persons.
The Ursuit® immersion suits have been classified in their protection classes according to the lowest test results to assure a
sufficient thermal insulation independent from the variations between different users.
