RVS® Bore Renovator™ Instructions
Please print this page for your reference!
RVS® Bore Renovator™ will form a completely new long lasting metal ceramic coating inside the barrel. Tests have proven that after
the RVS® treatment the weapon has gained better muzzle velocity and increased accuracy in addition to decreased barrel heating.
Don’t be stingy with the RVS® compound! More RVS® Technology compound can be spread on the friction surfaces of the weapon
such as the bolt and by further brushing the barrel with the RVS® compound.
The 30-ml bottle is sufficient for a treatment of a round surface of the maximum diameter of 0.4 inches, the length of which can be 19.7
inches. Notice that part of the compound is used for dipping the bullet parts of cartridges.
Application Instructions
- Clean the weapon (e.g. barrel) carefully and remove dirt such as jacket metal or lead. For example Forrester cleaning foam is
appropriate for this purpose
- Dip the felt plugs (e.g. VFG) of the caliber of your gun in the RVS® compound and start additional cleaning with a barrel brush
- When the plug gets dirty, replace it with a new one dipped in the RVS® compound
- Continue cleaning the barrel until no more dirt is removed from the barrel
- Wind an appropriate amount of 00 or 000 steel wool on a plastic or brass brush. Impregnate the steel wool with the RVS
compound
- Start brushing the barrel with the tight steel wool wad. Continue for approx. 10 minutes by periodically adding the RVS®
compound. Replace the wad with a new impregnated one if necessary. Extra compound can be wiped off but the compound
does not have to be removed before shooting
- You can spread the RVS® compound on other moving mechanisms in the way you find the most appropriate, for instance by
spreading it with a cotton wool stick
- Depending on the weapon, prepare 3 sets of 5 to 10 cartridges, covering the bullet parts with the RVS® compound. Prepare
also the same amount of dry bullets
- Shoot for instance 5 treated cartridges + 5 dry cartridges three times, or three times 10 + 10 series with an automatic gun
- Finally, shoot rapidly 5 to 30 shots with dry bullets depending on the gun and caliber. (Slower cartridges such as 7.62x39 heat
the barrel more slowly than 228 LM, for example. The more slowly heating bullets can be shot in longer series in order to cause
heat in the barrel to make the treatment more effective).
